Noted producer of 20 Kannada film Rehaman of Yajamana and Huchcha fame is contemplating on release of the films again.

When ‘Yajamana’ (Dr Vishnu in double role, Prema,Shashikumar and others – remake of  Tamil film Vannatha Polai) was made 14 years ago at a cost of Rs.3 crores plus it earned Rs.35 crores – silver jubilee in Bengaluru and Hubballi. Rehaman bought the remake rights paying Rs.12 lakhs. At that time he was told as ‘Huchcha’ for paying so much for remake rights. He later made a film with the same title starring Sudeep and Rekha. That film also created history earning more than Rs.20 crores.

Rehman did not reap good benefits. Distributors and exhibitors earned good profit. The TV rights were sold for Rs.7 lakhs for Yajamana to Rockline Venkatesh who later sold it for Rs.70 lakhs to Udaya TV and Rs.5 lakhs was for ‘Huchcha’ TV rights. The audio of Yajamana for Anand audio was sold at Rs.8 lakhs and it is still earning fabulously for Anand Audio.

After five years of rights the control of the two films wrests in the hands of Rehaman. He wants to give DTS effect and other technical adjustments to suit the satellite screening. Rehaman is in need of Rs.10 lakhs for making new technical additions.

Music director Rajesh Ramanath who came at this discussion time promised to make technical addition to the two films Yajamana and Huchcha at a cost of Rs.8 lakhs package in his ‘Sthayi Digital Studio’.

Dr Vishnuvardhana before Yajamana told Rehaman not to think of his payment and make the film. The dubbing was also over from Dr Vishnu – the payment was not settled for him. Such magnanimity I don’t see in present crops says Rehaman.

Meanwhile what is the reason for shelving ‘Jilladhikaari’ of Dr Shiv and Nagma starring film that was shot for 180 days by Om Prakash Rao? Rehaman curse his fate. The discussion he had at the silver jubilee fete of ‘Yajamana’ has shelved the project. Let us not discuss about it he says.
